Bolivar is introducing a new cigar to its Cofradia line. Bolivar Cofradia Oscuro — as its name suggests — is a darker cigar than the original Cofradia, and it is the second cigar in the Cofradia family.

Bolivar Cofradia Oscuro Blend Breakdown & Product Information

Bolivar Cofradia Oscuro features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and filler tobacco from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

It is a medium-to-full-bodied cigar. Tasting notes include earth, pepper, and spices. Recommended drink pairings are bourbon, single malt Scotch, and porter. It is produced in Honduras.

Joe Krzyston, assistant brand manager for Bolivar said, “Bolivar Cofradia Oscuro brings a new dimension to Bolivar by introducing a US-grown Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper to the portfolio. The blend is rich and rewarding and it’s priced in line with the existing Bolivar offerings, making it among the best values in any humidor. This new line is yet another reason for cigar smokers to explore this legendary brand, and we expect that the blend will be very well received.”

Bolivar Cofradia Oscuro is available in three classic sizes: a Robusto (5 X 54), a Toro (6 X 54), and a Gigante (6 X 60). SRP per cigar ranges (depending on size) from $5.99 to $7.89. Bolivar Cofradia is packaged in boxes of 25 cigars and will begin shipping to retailers in May of 2024.

Sounds like a must-try to me. That price point is certainly attractive, too. Kudos, Bolivar!
