Punch Releases New Cigar in Collaboration with Cigar City Brewing

Punch is at it again. This time, the innovative cigar brand has teamed up with Cigar City Brewing to release a new cigar called, “Cigar City Brewing Maduro by Punch.”

Honduran roots

The cigar is a Honduran Puro -- crafted with a Honduran Habano maduro wrapper, a Honduran Habano binder, a combination of Honduran Habano fillers from various regions, and made by hand in the HATSA (Honduran American Tobacco S.A.) factory in Danli, Honduras.

Unsurprisingly, the Cigar City Brewing Maduro by Punch is a cigar designed with beer in mind. Ed Lahmann, senior brand manager of Punch said, “This cigar pairs beautifully with the Cigar City portfolio of beers, and also stands strong on its own, with the perfect balance of complexity and versatility.”

Tasting notes & cigar sizes

Key tasting notes on the cigar include earth and wood with complementary hints of black cherry and cocoa. It will debut in two sizes:

• Magnum (5 1/4 x 54) — $8.29 SRP per cigar.
• Toro (6 x 50) — $8.49 SRP per cigar.

Both sizes will be available in boxes of 20. The box itself features the iconic Cigar City Brewing logo on a wooden exterior.

Lahman said that he was excited to work with Cigar City Brewing on a cigar collaboration. “We’re both masters of our craft creating bold, balanced, and highly-regarded products, so it was the ideal partnership for us to create a cigar for beer lovers. The use of the Habano leaves grown in the fertile valleys of Honduras accentuates the savory beers of Cigar City 100%.”

About Cigar City Brewing

Cigar City Brewing is located in Tampa Bay, Florida, and takes its name from the long history of cigar making in the area. In fact, one of their beers is called the “Maduro Brown.” Maria Grieshaber, brand director at Cigar City Brewing, said that they were happy to partner with Punch on this project.

Where to buy the Punch Cigar City Brewing collab?

The cigar will be available at certain liquor stores starting this month, including select Total Wines, select ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, select Binny’s Beverage Depots, and select Spec’s locations. A larger launch is scheduled for early 2022.

Cigar City Brewing was founded in 2007 and has three locations in the Tampa Bay metro area.
