Las 6 Provincias debuted in 2018, marking not only the most premium offering from Espinosa Premium Cigars, but one of the most eye-catching and elaborate presentations throughout the entire cigar industry! Since its inception, Las 6 Provincias (translating to mean The Six Provinces) was intended to be a six-part series, with Espinosa showcasing a new cigar each year in commemoration of the original six provinces of Cuba.
The series began with Las 6 Provincias LHB, a blend named for the La Habana province. But the cigars have since been followed by Las 6 Provincias MTZ, which is named for Cuba's Matanzas province.
Like its predecessor, MTZ has been spearheaded by Erik Espinosa Jr., bringing yet another ornate presentation to the die-hard smoker. The limited cigars are packaged in both plain boxes and (even more limited) dress boxes, with the latter being a recreation of the shuttered windows of colonial-era Cuba. This box not only features hand-painted designs made to mimic the curved stained-glass, but actual functioning hinged shutters, brilliantly revealing the MTZ cigars when opened! Las 6 Provincias MTZ features a medium body and a brighter profile when compared to its predecessor. The cigars have been rolled at A.J. Fernández's San Lotano factory, featuring a Nicaraguan Habano 2000 wrapper over an all-Nicaraguan binder/filler. Collectors, die-hard La Zona fans, and flavor-seeking enthusiasts alike will find solace with Espinosa's MTZ, bringing one of the most unique, complex experiences from the company to date.
