Diesel Adds to its Disciple Lineup
Heads up, Diesel Disciples. We’ve got some big news about –– you guessed it –– Diesel Disciple. Previously released as a Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) exclusive, Diesel Disciple became a full-time release late last year. Now, Diesel is adding two new sizes to the Disciple rotation: a Toro (6 ¼ X 52) and a Torpedo (6 ½ X 54).
Diesel Disciple Blend Information
Diesel fans will note that Disciple was first introduced as a limited-edition TAA exclusive in 2022. That version of Disciple –– a 7 X 38 Lancero –– was made a full-time offering in late 2022. The two new front marks (the Toro and Torpedo) feature the same blend as the original lancero: a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and Estelí Habano, Viso Estelí, and Ligero Estelí filler tobacco.
Tasting notes include earth, oak, and cocoa, and suggested pairings are rye whiskey, aged rum, and bourbon. It is a medium-to-full-bodied smoke.
Justin Andrews, business development manager of Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s (STG) North American Branded and Rest of the World Divisions, said, “We decided to launch two new sizes of Diesel Disciple this year because the blend has gotten such a strong endorsement from the retail community. They love the blend and the packaging and often tell us that Disciple smokes like a $20 cigar for half the price. We’re looking forward to rolling out the new formats and will continue to expand the line according to demand from retailers and cigar smokers.”
Diesel Disciples are handcrafted in Estelí, Nicaragua, and developed in collaboration between AJ Fernandez and Justin Andrews.
Diesel Disciple Product Info & Availability
All three Diesel Disciples come in 10-count black boxes that feature the Diesel logo and branding. The two new front marks will arrive at retailers nationwide starting in early May. The suggested retail prices for the two new front marks range from $9.49 to $9.79 per cigar.
