CAO is releasing two new cigars with related blends and backstories: CAO FASA Sol and CAO FASA Noche. These two full-time additions to the CAO lineup are launching this April, and they share the same blend — except for their wrappers. “FASA” is a Malay word meaning phase, and FASA Sol (“sun”) features a sun grown Honduran Olancho San Agustin (OSA) wrapper, while FASA Noche (“Night”) has a darker Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.”

CAO FASA Sol and FASA Noche Blend Information

Both have a Cameroon binder and Dominican Piloto Cubano, Nicaraguan Jalapa, Nicaraguan Estelí, and Nicaraguan Condega fillers. The difference between the two cigars is primarily in the wrappers. CAO FASA Sol boasts a Honduran OSA SOL wrapper, while CAO FASA Noche has a darker US Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Interestingly, FASA Sol originates from Honduras, and FASA Noche in Nicaragua.

Ed Lahmann, senior brand manager explains, “We built CAO FASA on a versatile, nuanced blend that combines a Cameroon binder with fillers from the Dominican Republic and three Nicaraguan growing regions. From this foundation, we set out to highlight the importance of the wrapper on the overall experience of the cigar. CAO FASA Sol and CAO FASA Noche could not be more alike, yet they could not be more different. They’re literally like night and day, and still perfect for either occasion. This is what CAO is all about…taking our fans on a journey through the tobaccos we choose.”

FASA Sol tasting notes include Ceylon cinnamon, almonds, and toast. FASA Noche tasting notes include molasses, chili powder, and white pepper. Drink recommendations for FASA Sol are Kentucky bourbon, Nicaraguan rum, and Café Cortado, and FASA Noche’s are cream soda, double espresso, and Canadian blended whisky. FASA Sol is a medium-bodied cigar, while FASA Noche is a medium-to-full-bodied cigar.

CAO FASA Sol and FASA Noche Pricing and Availability

Both CAO FASA Sol and FASA Noche are available in two sizes: a Toro (6 X 50) and a Gigante (6 X 60). FASA Sol and FASA Noche boxes contain 24 cigars. SRPs for the cigars are the same and range from $6.99 to $7.99 depending on size. Packaging for the cigars is similar but varies mainly in color, with orange and white for FASA Sol and grey and black for FASA Noche.
