Black Label Trading Company’s (BLTC) Royalty | LeeMack912 (S06 E78)
The Black Label Trading Company’s (BLTC) | LeeMack912 (S06 E78). Corojo wrapper from Ecuador, a Honduran binder and fillers from Nicaragua. #leemack912 smokes & reviews
Royalty blend is one of a half dozen initial releases by the new boutique. It truly emphasizes one of the company’s biggest points – it produces a mix of flavors that are uncommon. BLTC has only been around since 2013, but it’s entering the industry the right way, with an excellent selection of blends, a unified theme and focus on craftsmanship. The brand’s founder, James Brown (no relation to the soul singer), has long enjoyed his cigars while running adventure tours into the jungles of Central America. He’s, first and foremost, a person who enjoys living on the edge, and his blends are made to reflect this bold mindset.
The Black Label Trading Company’s Royalty has a Corojo wrapper from Ecuador, a Honduran binder and fillers from Nicaragua. Brown has a particular respect for Nicaraguan tobaccos, so most of his cigars feature them in the filler. BLTC does not make a big deal out of offering a lot of vitolas. So it’s no surprise that this blend is only available in three of them, including a Robusto (5 x 54), Corona (5 1/2 x 42) and Gran Toro (6 x 60). It’s a dark tan, smooth and slightly oily stick that has numerous small veins crisscrossing it, but no prominent seams.
