I know you can probably relate to my conundrum. It’s not a bad conundrum. It’s a good one.
Today I’m in the mood for one of Don Pepin Garcia’s masterpieces. I recently enjoyed a La Aroma de Cuba, so that one isn’t on the short list. So, it’s either a La Aroma de Cuba Reserva Maximo or a San Cristobal Revelation Legend.
The wife plans on watching a movie in the bedroom, so that gives the old man one of his “Cigar Meditation” days. That entails conversation-free contemplation while listening to good music.
Which brings me to another conundrum: what music? Although I’m a tie-dyed-in-the-wool Deadhead (circa 1967), for me the Grateful Dead and cigars don’t mix. Neither does the likes of another favorite band, Rush, amongst many, many others. Rock and stogies just aren’t conducive to my basking in “The Cigar Zone.” YMMV
I much prefer listening to Baroque Classical, deep chill electronica, jazz, or – yikes – “Easy Listening” while smoking a fine cigar.
Oh, and with what drink do I pair the yet undecided stogie and yet undecided tuneage accompaniment?
Decisions, decisions… 😜
