Caldwell Lost & Found 15 Minutes Of Fame lancer is not quite a lost & found blend. It’s actually a re-blended cigar from a past Lost & Found (reportedly Cookie Monster) or so I am led to believe. Let’s put it to the test. A number of small toothy veins in the habano wrapper. The pre-light aroma from the foot and wrapper hint at the sweetness to come in the smoke.
It’s a medium bodied smoke with flavors of cedar, cream, spice, leather some earthiness and it does have a cookie taste to it – kind of like a vanilla wafer with oreo cream filling – cookie monster? During the second third I get notes of more vanilla icing, grass, floral notes and even a few hints of cheesecake on some puffs. Retrohale: wood and pepper.
The burn was a little uneven, but I’ve come to expect that with a lancero. Otherwise, the construction was fine – no issues with the ash, cap, wrapper and the smoke output was adequate. Nice cool, open draw start to finish.
I wasn’t totally knocked out by this cigar, but it is a better than average stick in the Caldwell Lost & Found series. If I could only get my hands on an original L&F Cookie Monster to compare and contrast the flavors.
