A Wine and Winston Churchill

Smoked: Davidoff Winston Churchill

I’m enjoying a nice red with Winston Churchill (the cigar not the statesman) while listening to a little Miles Davis. I’m definitely in the chill mode and the Davidoff is a perfect smoke for chilling. Impeccable construction, mild- mid bodied with just enough spice for the wine and cigar to complement each other. Great taste and aroma. What a beautiful September evening.

    Goomba, I have to agree with you on drinking a good vintage, high end wine with a cigar. Generally, I believe premium wine pairs with food, not with smoke. I want to taste the flavors in the wine. I can always taste the flavors in the cigar another time. But I am curious when a see a cigar paired with wine. Maybe I'm missing out on an experience.

      The only way to know is to try. I like a deep red myself.

    Miles Davis, Ahmad Jamal, Dave Brubeck would all pair nicely with a Davidoff for me. What wine did you use to pair it?

      I think it was a Josh Cabernet. Nothing top shelf. I like a drinkable red with cigars. I would never drink an upper shelf wine with a cigar.
