Nice $2 cigar Rocky Patel fumas

Smoked: Rocky Patel Cuban Blend Maduro Toro

No one ever talks about their everyday cigars, so I thought I would review my everyday smoke as my first ever review.

I had not smoked a cigar for 25 years before I picked these up. Been smoking on them for a few weeks now and am glad I found them. These fumas are made from the scraps of their regular Cuban Blend cigars with Honduran Ligero filler and binder wrapped in Honduran Corojo Maduro and sold for around $2 a stick.

I pick up nuances of spicey pepper at first that mellows a bit to an earthiness around the second third of the cigar. The earthiness lingers on the final third and from time to time I swear I taste cedar. No cedar in my tupperdor yet, so it must come from the cigar.

I found that this cigar pairs very well with a strong dark roast coffee in the mornings. The cigar is a bit more mellow with coffee but it still tastes great. It also pairs very well after dinner with a nice cold Shiner Boch or Samuel Addams Boston Lager.

I have yet to pair these with any spirits, so I can't suggest pairings here.

As far as food goes, pair it with anything rich or spicey. Pairs well with barbeque, texmex, hamburgers or anything you put on the smoker.

Its not all good with this cigar. It burns slightly unevenly, and you can forget about smoking in any breeze whatsoever. A couple I've come across burnt holes about a centimeter from the foot, but other than that I'd say that I am more than pleased with this fuma. I have a regular Cuban Blend in my tupperdor and I'll review it after the first of the year to compare with this fuma.

That's about it. Don't really know what else to say here. I hope someone finds this review helpfull.

I’ll have to pick some of those up. I’m always looking for a decent, cheaper, smoke to bring to work.

They're really pretty good for the price.
