Macanudo Inspirado White’s wrapper is a light tan colored slightly oily Ecuador Connecticut. Interesting given that Macanudo prides itself on using U.S. Connecticut tobacco in its cigars. The filler is a mix of Nicaraguan and Mexican San Andres and the binder is Indonesian. You don’t get more multinational than that. I assume Macanudo is interested in contributing to the global economy.
Flavor profile: cedar, spice/pepper, earth, grass, hay with enough creaminess to give it some balance. There is a slight buttery. butterscotch taste at times. Add a touch of mineral and vegetal notes during the second third. The pepper is certainly front and center on the retrohale.
Construction was solid – good draw, fairly even burn line, ash held well, smoke output strong.
This is a good choice for a newcomer to the world of cigars. Newbies will find this very approachable – mellow, medium-mild bodied, not very complex yet enjoyable. Seasoned veterans, on the other hand, will likely consider the Macanudo White average, maybe even bland, mundane.
I found it a reasonably affordable alternative to a Café as a morning coffee stick. But, after all these years of smoking so many cigars, it’s near the bottom of the barrel of even an everyday Connecticut go-to. I’ll gravitate to a Macanudo Café, Montecristo White or an Espinosa Crema when my budget won’t permit a Dunbarton Sobremesa Brulee or a Black Label Trading Company Porcelain.
BTW: The name of the cigar has triggered a musical earworm based on an Eagles song. “Inspirado” – the perfect cigar for when you’re “out riding fences.” Maybe it’s a leftover memory of last weekend’s episode of Yellowstone

(15 hours ago)Great review. I had a similar experience with the White.
(You just put it a bit more eloquently)
