Rocky, Rocky, Rocky... The hype is there. I've had your best cigar the RP ALR Aged Limited Rare a few years ago. I've had the decade, and I've had the mulligans holts exclusive (the whole lineup) I just say, although they are OK smokes I haven't smoked one I absolutely loved, YET. Will today be the change I needed with Rocky Patel cigar co.? We shall see! Review to be updated in the comments. As I start reading through the latest edition of cigar Aficionado. RP Sungrown is next on my radar since it's my buddy @chipc73 favorite stick. Cheers fellas.

(11 months ago)Here's the review. Sumatra Wrapped smokes are arguably my favorite wrapper varietal, (Right now). Ashton VSG, Punch Clásico are my favorite Ecuador Sumatra smokes. I'm going to be honest here, I just can't get a rocky Patel cigar I love. The cigar was good. That sweet earthiness one gets in a Sumatra was there, it was slightly leathery and very smooth with no spice at all. On the retro was a distinct Almond note, that I was surprised to find. 6/10 smoke. Nice burn, good draw, a couple touch ups during final third.
Would I buy again? Probably, yes? only as the buy 3 get 1 free sample pack, honestly. I'm more of a Nat Sherman, Ferio Tego, Davidoff, Fuente, Padron, , DBL, JC Newman. Ashton distribution aka LADC San Cristobal) , Perdomo Fan. I know what I like, and that's how I'm going to approach 2024 in the hobby. Although I'm going to continue to dabble in cigars I've never had because I love searching for that unicorn for an awesome price, in going to focus my attention on Rare, harder to find, vintage cigars, again. Nat Sherman / Ferio Tego may be the most underrated cigar brand I've ever came across. I'm gonna say that now haha. Welp that's it guys. Cheers fellas , God bless you all.

(11 months ago)Also , I smoke 2 cigars a day, many which I don't post on here day to day. In my rotation I keep Ashton VSG and Punch Clásico. vsg is Monday smoke and clásico is Thursday. In my opinion both of them Sumatras blow the edge away. I'm sorry Rocky, I'll keep trying with your Brand. Your ALR cigar was fantastic though. It was really good, it's a great special occasion smoke. I'm looking for an everyday smoke in the $8-12 dollar range that I love. The hunt continues

(11 months ago)That, my fellow Brother of the Leaf, was an awesome review. I really liked your statement, “Sumatra Wrapped smokes are arguably my favorite wrapper varietal, (Right now).” I can SO relate to the “right now” qualifier. It’s clear that you and I have similar palates and preferences. And I find it interesting that you have specific cigars designated for certain days of the week. That is so cool. I am definitely looking forward to your honest opinion of Rocky’s Sun Grown (red bands) sticks. Cheers!

(11 months ago)Lol it's alright. When you become a regular at a brick and mortar they take care of you. At least that's how it is here. The camaraderie is great. Hey stacks I have a question? On chips review of the Ferio Tego. Didn't you tell me you ordered some before. Or was that DBL?

(11 months ago)I did, I responded in Chip’s feed. They arrived damaged, and they credited my account because they were on back order. I never re-ordered them but I did last night 💪🏻
