La Aurora 107 USA Maduro has Dominican filler, a Dominican Corojo binder and an oily deep dark brown Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper with tight invisible seams and barely noticeable tiny veins.
Very woodsy cigar – oak, leather, roasted almonds serve up a powerful opening salvo. There is spice - heavy on the pepper, but not overwhelming so. A toffee sweetmess balances the heavier dominant flavors. Halfway through, the 107 Maduro is still wood, leather, nut dominant. Also during the second third, there’s a subtle transition featuring more spice, less peppery, and earth melding with the leather and almonds for a steely-chalky earthiness. A touch of cocoa sneaks in for a few puffs.
Loose draw, but acceptable, generous smoke production, dead-on amazingly even burn line with nary a touchup needed, and firm tight ash. Even with the draw a little loose, all in all, superb construction!
I like the transition from med-full to full bodied by the final third. La Aurora 107 USA Maduro is one of the better Maduros I’ve smoked this year.

(51 days ago)That sounds like a great cigar! I have a friend who gave me one, so I am looking forward to trying it out.
