If forced to choose one style of cut, or cutter, it would probably be a VEE Cut. It leaves part of the cap intact, and can be varied (length and depth) based on the cigar.
I am also fond of a round " Punch-Cutter". On larger ring gauge cigars, I with sometimes punch a cigar twice, a bit off-center, in a figure-eight, or vampire fang style. This allows benefits of larger "straight-cuts", and keeps part of the cap intact. Making it less likely to split or unravel while smoking.
