Don Pepin Garcia Blue Original is box-pressed draped in an oily corojo oscuro wrapper with a few thin veins. The cigar is medium-full body, medium strength.
Flavors include wood (mostly cedar), array of nuts, chocolate, caramel, spice, leather, herbal, floral with a touch of cream and coffee. They all combine for a refined sweetness like confectioner’s sugar on a chocolate bar. Pepper kicks in and really ramps up during the second third. The cigar becomes a little bitter and harsh by the second third losing some of the flavors
Loose cold draw, a decent burn line, although the ash was flaky and fell off several times. The smoke production was adequate.
I’d rate this a better than average cigar, but nothing special. I enjoyed it. Just wasn’t wowed.

(10 months ago)I agree with your assessment 100%. I wasn't wowed, either. Not bad. Not great. It was the most lackluster creation by Don Pepin Garcia I've smoked yet. He certainly has come a long way since his first creation.
