Caldwell Lost & Found Malditos Bastardos – the first thing you notice is that the Caldwell name doesn’t appear on the cigar band. Once lit, you’ll recognize that it’s a Caldwell Lost & Found – and one of the more interesting of the species.
Flavor profile: creamy, nutty (cashews), herbs, a hint of coffee, doughy/bread notes and almost no pepper or spice on the first third. And, of course, the Caldwell signature well aged tobacco flavor. One of the most interesting experiences of smoking a Lost & Found is the presence of flavors you usually don’t taste in cigars, but sometimes it’s the absence of or greatly diminished flavor notes you usually do find in most cigars. The pepper and spice emerge during the second third, but it is very mild, including the retrohale.
No construction issues – good draw, tight ash, no wrapper problems. I give this Caldwell Malditos Bastardos a 4 for flavor and body and a 5 for construction.
