I remember a time before color TV was invented. I remember a time when, as a rebellious 11-year-old, I smoked my first cigar (I loved the flavor). I remember a time when the world, at least to me, was simpler. Yesterday, a La Aroma de Cuba Robusto took me back to that very time.
Sometimes, cigars can gently provide the smoker an almost magical transformation into an alternate reality; this wonderful stogie did just that. Long-forgotten sensations and impressions from yesteryear came floating back into my consciousness. It was almost as if I was seeing my present reality in black and white. (Although yesterday was 4/20, I was not smoking anything other than pure tobacco.)
La Aroma de Cuba’s tagline, “a taste from another time,” certainly rang true yesterday.
Cheers!
Incidentally, the cigar was perfect in every aspect: burn, draw, flavor, strength, appearance, smoke production, cap placement, you name it. Absolutely perfect. If only every cigar were such an embodiment of perfection… we can always hope!

(9 months ago)Great description. Often a smell or taste will pull me back to my past. Usually a very nice journey.

(9 months ago)Thank you. Being a musician, I find that music is also an especially powerful agent for "blasts from the past." I'm all for living in the present moment, but sometimes it's so nice to remember good things from long ago.
