601, half a dozen of the other

This was an interesting smoke.

The flavors are there; nutty, cedar and leathery kind of profile. Good.

My problem was the wrapper. As soon as I cut the end, the wrapper started to flake and unravel. I managed for awhile but had to carefully remove the flapping parts of the wrapper. Then later as the binder started to erode, I cut more off the end. I got well over halfway before it was unmanageable.

I am not claiming poor construction or blaming the cigar.

If I had to guess (and it's a wild one), I'd blame myself. I received these about 10 days ago and probably should have let it sit for longer. Plus the cutter I used was not good and I think some of that force caused pressure on the cigar as it was cut. My fault.

Back to the cigar ... Good stuff. Great flavor and enjoyable. I think it smoked heavier than a medium profile but I liked it and would recommend it.

I think probably all of us can relate to cutting issues at one time or another. I bet a high quality V-cutter would be ideal for that vitola. 😊
