As you know, stogies are subjective. It’s all about personal taste and how we as people experience those. That’s part of why cigars are so fascinating. Two people can have two completely different experiences from the same thing.

Much like a personal preference on tobacco blends, we all have a personal preference on the size of cigar we like to smoke. That leads us to this week's blog topic. Well, it’s more of a simple question that doesn’t get asked enough…

What’s your favorite cigar size to smoke?

I’ll start it off. My personal favorite cigar size is a 5x50.

Why? ‘Cause, at normally about 5x50, a Robusto will check all my necessary boxes.

They’re packed with flavor.

They don’t burn too hot.

And, the best part, they always smoke in under 45 minutes.

Dassit.

I enjoy Robusto all the way to double Toro. Just lately I've started to try some smaller sizes like an 8-5-8 by AF, and really enjoy that cigar.

Mainly I prefer a robusto but, I can’t pass up a Lancero. Depends on the brand.

I have favorites for different occasions. I smoke a 6X60 on the golf course because it stays lit and lasts 18 holes, and smaller sizes for walking the dog, an evening cocktail and with morning coffee. I smoke 2 to 4 cigars a day and like the variety.

    I prefer a Toro between 6 x 52 or 6-1/4 x 52. Typically don't like ring gauges above 54.

My favorite size is 6x60... and I'm also partial to anything in the 54-58 ring gauge range that's at least 5" in length.

My all around favorite is the Toro for the feel, smoking time and flavor/taste development. Like most I like to relish the cigar I am smoking so taking into account available time, location, and companionship + the associated beverage my choice cigar and size may have to deviate from the Toro.

Toro all day! Love that cigar size.

My personal favorite is also the robusto, for a number of reasons. One of the main reasons is the time factor. I must be a slow smoker, though -- a robusto normally lasts me almost 2 hours!
