New Cigars to Try in 2023
The best cigar you’ve ever had could be the next one you light up. Whether or not that turns out to be the case, the truth is that there are a ton of new cigars worth trying in 2023! Of course, some of the best cigars of 2023 are yet to be announced –– let alone released. Thankfully, you won’t have any trouble finding excellent cigars from the past calendar year at your local cigar shop. But enough preamble, let’s get to the recommendations!
Amazon Basin Extra Añejo
Technically, this is both an old and a new cigar for 2023. Let us explain. CAO released Amazon Basin Extra Añejo several years ago but brought it back for 2023. It’s the same classic blend that CAO fans love –– just with a few extra (or, in this case, extra extra) years of aging that have only enhanced the already deeply matured flavors.
Partagas Cortado
Partagas Cortado is one of the most impressive cigars released in recent years. It’s the first Partagas to feature a Connecticut shade wrapper, and it’s been acclaimed as an excellent smoke by industry insiders and consumers alike. If you haven’t had Partagas Cortado yet, put it on your list for 2023.
Room101 13th Anniversary
For some people, the number 13 is unlucky. Not so for Room101 cigars, which released a dynamite cigar to commemorate their 13 years in business. With a striking pink band, a purely Nicaraguan blend, and an impressive burn, this limited-edition smoke is worth checking out while you still can.
My Father Le Bijou 1922
Like the Room101 13th Anniversary, My Father Le Bijou 1922 is a Nicaraguan puro with a ton of flavor. FYI, this is a dark cigar loaded with intense tasting notes. So it’s a great pickup as a special occasion smoke or for those who prefer a robust cigar.
Oliva Serie V
Over the past 15 years, it would be difficult to find a more celebrated cigar than the Oliva Serie V. While we may not be breaking news to seasoned cigar smokers, newcomers to the hobby should make it a point to at least try one of these cigars when they get the chance.
La Gloria Cubana Classic
Don’t let the term “classic” fool you. The flagship La Gloria Cubana cigar is just as complex and rewarding today as it was when it was first released. Consider this a smoke worth trying –– or re-trying in 2023 –– depending on your experience with the brand. Either way, we think you’ll enjoy it!

(22 months ago)I purchased a box of the Amazon Basin, and I too believe it might be the cigar of 2023. I just wish they weren't in limited release. The extra aging years puts a flavor to these cigar that are untouched by others.
