There are three main growing regions in Honduras. The first of which is the rich and fertile soil of the province of El Paraiso (translating into "Paradise"). In this area, you'll find the Jamastran Valley and Danli, which are known for producing high quality wrappers. Hours away is the Talanga Valley, a windy and mountainous area where tents are erected around the sun grown tobacco, called the "encallado" method, to protect them from the wind. Lastly, the Copan area, infamous for its Mayan ruins. Copan is a major producing region, and has been since the Spanish established the first tobacco post in 1765.
