Smoked: Argyle Candela Robusto

Today I smoked this cigar, an Argyle Candela (5x50) Robusto, that had been in my humidor for 15 months. I couldn’t wait until September to pull it out. I just had to find out if it improved over time. It did! It’s amazing how time can mellow the overall “sharpness” of a former recently purchased cigar and subsequently heighten its subtle and distinct flavor nuances. Any “rough edges” that once existed were completely smoothed over; the flavors were now allowed to present themselves without any interference. For a relatively low-end stick (today’s price: $74.95 for a box of 20 at Holt’s), it sure was a pleasant and very satisfying smoke.

Remember when I picked up the CRA 2023 Spring/Summer Sampler last year? Those cigars, a Padron Black No. 52, a My Father Garcia & Garcia Robusto Deluxe, a La Flor Dominicana Salomon, a Rocky Patel White Label Toro, a Fuente Fuente Opus X The Lost City Toro, a J. C. Newman Diamond Crown Black Diamond Emerald, an Oliva Serie V 8x52, an Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edicion Limitada, a Tatuaje 15th Anniversary Plus One Escasos, and an Ashton Symmetry Sublime have been in the same humidor as the Argyle along with other various cigars. I plan to officially open the flood gates (that humidor) in September. Oh boy!

I hope you all have a nice weekend. Cheers!
