Smoked: Camacho Nicaragua

This 5 x 50 Camacho Nicaragua (orange band) really let me down. Not anywhere nearly as good (IMHO) as the fabulous (but, sadly, now-discontinued) Camacho Criollo (yellow band), or the delicious Camacho Ecuador (blue band), or the tasty Camacho Triple Maduro (black band), or even the so-so Camacho Corojo (red band), this Camacho Nicaragua ranks right down there with the disappointing, leaning on awful (again IMHO), Camacho Connecticut (light-orange band).

One retailer wrote this description (paraphrased), “...although it's not made in Nicaragua, it's blended to taste just like time-honored Nicaraguan cigars.” Really? Seriously? I have never, ever, smoked a Nicaraguan cigar that tasted anything like this thing. Maybe the bitter, lack-of-spice/pepper, almost rancid, stale flavors were a fluke. Regardless, I’m not going to waste my money and my time smoking another one of these Nicaraguan imposters, fluke or not. Give me the real thing.
