Cigar Reviewed: CAO Stingy Scrooge
Smoked at: Aiea, Hawaii
Backstory:
Recently found a box of these at my local liquor store/ cigar shop. It use to be a well know shop back in the early 2010s but has since fallen short of being a reputable cigar shop, cigars were stored in a glass case which was not humidified, but seeing how it was once a great shop in such poor display I felt sorry and bought a overly priced stick of this CAO stingy Scrooge for $17.50. I know, I know but I felt sorry for the place…..The poor cigar needed to be brought back to life. Luckily it was sitting in its factory box since its release, the cellophane wrapper was tinged a dark brown from sitting so long. After I kept it in my humidor (\~68) for 10 days I thought it was long enough to enjoy. I was somewhat right I guess….
Cigar:
The Scrooge lit and stayed lit through out 2/3rds of the cigar. At the end I had to relight it, but from the get go it was a smooth and leathery experience, some pepper and a bit of almonds is all I could gather from my experience, because after the first half it started to get harsh but I puffed through it because I had read somewhere that it supposedly had dark chocolate finish, which I couldn’t get at all. Maybe my palate isn’t there yet? Maybe it needed more time to be brought back to life? I don’t know, if I ever do go back to the shop I’ll grab another and sit on it longer, then review again.
to be re-reviewed in the future.
