Smoked: Room 101 Farce Esteli

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

Room 101 Farce Esteli is obviously by its name a Nicaraguan covered in a medium brown Habano wrapper with a bit of a sheen to it. It’s a medium-full bodied stick.

Good smoke production, good draw, the ash was a bit flaky falling off several times. The burn line was unruly, uneven.

Cedar, pepper, coffee, milk chocolate, leather and notes of citrus It tastes a bit like an aperitif liqueur flavor. Spices join the pepper brigade by the finish. The retrohale is peppery with a hint of floral – interesting.

I wasn’t all the impressed with this cigar. The flavors were minimal, dominated by wood, pepper and coffee. Not an unpleasant experience, but it was nothing special EXCEPT for the citrus-aperitif notes – unusual, unexpected and kept my interest. All of that kicks it up to a 3.
