Smoked: La Aroma de Cuba Noblesse

As a hardcore La Aroma de Cuba fan, this 6.125 x 52 Noblesse Viceroy (Pyramid) left me rather disappointed. (This was the second one I smoked; the first was even more disappointing.) I guess my palate prefers the more robust LAdC offerings, such as the Original, the Mi Amor, and the Reserva.

Consider this a “refined” LAdC stick? According to LAdC’s website, the Noblesse offers "Luxurious notes of dark chocolate lava cake, espresso bean, and Turkish fig emanate throughout a voluptuous, full-bodied smoke with accents of Himalayan pink salt and black peppercorn." Hmmm… Well, I wouldn’t know a Turkish fig from the fig that’s in a Fig Bar cookie. What flavor does Himalayan pink salt have, anyway? All I know is table salt. My pedestrian palate detected chocolate, dark fruit, and pepper, all three of which were very toned down. No notes of espresso bean notes nor saltiness were detected. But maybe that’s just me.

Check out that white ash! Burn was excellent, as was the draw. Smoke production was abundant, with a mild/medium body and, believe it or not, mild strength (Holt’s lists the strength as “Full”). Would I buy a box of ‘em? Nope. Perhaps you folks with more discerning palates would find more satisfaction from this cigar; I really look forward to your reviews. I’ll stick (no pun intended… well, maybe…) with the aforementioned LAdC cigars, thank you very much. At least they excite my palate.
