Cigar Reviewed: Macanudo Emissary España

Smoked at: Kailua Kona, Hawaii

It's been a while since I received a cigar from the testing lab. Upon opening up the box my eyes fell upon the gold and blue band which I thought was very elegant. I place the cigar in my humidor to rest before smoking, after a week I decided to try it. Removing the cigar from the cellophane wrapper the cigar looked very appealing, not a lot of veins showing, nice brown chocolate color, remove the foot band (which I like on a cigar) I cut the end cap and did a cold draw. Draw was light and easy, I picked up a cedar note. After toasting the foot I puffed and retrohaled which brought me with the flavor notes of light white pepper and cedar, this was throughout the first third. The second third still had the white pepper and cedar but now I picked up toasted almonds and caramel, the burn of the cigar was even with no touch ups. The final third of the cigar remained the same flavor notes. This cigar was very surprising to me being a 5 country blend with well aged tobacco. This is a cigar that will find a way into my stable of cigars.

Aloha,
