Smoked: JFR Lunatic Habano short robusto

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

JFR Lunatic Habano short robusto is a Nicaraguan featuring a tan Ecuador Habano wrapper filled with plenty of veins. It’s initially almost impossible to see with the stick enveloped in a gold leaf footer band.

Cashews and peanuts, chocolate, vanilla creaminess, spice and pepper. The retrohale is very peppery with some hint of a floral note. Earthiness takes over during the second third, although the other flavors are still there. Last third was the best, most enjoyable portion of the smoke. Interesently, the flavors really didn’t change or transition, but they melded together well on the stretch run for lack of a better explanation. The Lunatic is medium-full bodied and strength.

Kudos on the construction: good draw, copious smoke output, excellent dead even burn line.

I wasn’t all that impressed with this cigar until the final third. I can give it a 4 – overall flavors maybe more like a 3.5. I’d smoke one again, especially given the price point.
