Smoked: H. Upmann The Banker Daytrader Toro

I’ve had my eye on this cigar for some time. Thanks to @shortstackz for kindly gifting me this gorgeous 6 x 54 toro, I finally had the chance to check it out.

Draped beneath a beautiful Ecuadorian-seed Sumatra wrapper is a Nicaraguan binder with a filler comprised of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos. I was expecting a flavor & spice bomb from its appearance, but the ultra-smooth, medium-bodied smoke made me think that the filler was mainly Dominican tobacco. With only a hint of pepper, the retrohales were delightfully smooth.

Although not a complex nor flavor-transitional cigar, the notes of baking spices, wood, and earth were quite enjoyable. Although it’s often rated as medium in strength, the one I had was definitely full strength. Other than requiring a minor touchup in the final third, its burn was excellent. The draw was a bit tight for my liking, but did not interfere with the cigar’s flavors, and I did not need a draw tool to slightly open it up. Thank you so much, shortstackz!
