Smoked: Caldwell Crafted & Curated Antoinette Culebra

Smoked at: Fairfield, Ohio

Caldwell Crafted & Curated Antoinette Culebra Twists – 3 Dominican filler and binder panatellas with an Ecuador Habano wrapper tied together, i.e. “twisted” and, I must say, more difficult than it should be to untie the knots holding the 3 together. The filler and binder are according to some sources, combined with Nicaraguan tobacco but you know secretive Caldwell can be. The cigars are medium-full bodied, medium strength. The 3 Caldwell Amigos shared the culebra at our weekly cigar event-meeting-get together.

Earth, leather, pepper, almonds, a sour bread or beer note, a sweet creaminess and a slight mineral taste are the key flavors and, frankly, most of the time the earth, leather, pepper, and sour notes are the only flavors.

I was unimpressed as were my Caldwell buddies who shared the other two panatellas at our weekly Thursday night scotch, bourbon, cigars and solving the world problems get together. I was impressed with the Caldwell Crafted & Curated Louis The Last and Girls Guns Gold. Caldwell missed the mark on this C&C.
