Smoked: Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua
Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio
Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua is, of course, a puro. The filler is harvested from several regions. It has a Cuban seed binder and an oily dark brown wrapper
Cedar, leather, spice,, chocolate, dark roast coffee, cream and caramel The pepper reminds me of banana peppers on my sub sandwiches. There’s a backdrop of flavors of earthiness, mixed nuts, toast. An ever so mild fruit taste and a 3 Muskateers nougat taste. The cedar turns to oak and charred wood by the second third. It’s medium bodied and strength – until the final third when the strength kicks into another gear, although it never gets overwhelmingly strong.
Construction: good draw, nice even burn line, reasonable – perhaps a bit weak - smoke output, and the grey ash held on well.
Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua is an enjoyable smoke. It’s not the Prensado, but Alec, Bradley and their father would agree it was never intended to be. Still, it’s a solid piece of the AB lineup. I did smoke it to the nub. Rack it up as a 4.
