Aganorsa Leaf Anniversario Corojo Gran Robusto is a beautiful looking cigar with two silver on white bands and a footer sleeve. It’s a box-pressed Nicaraguan puro with a medium brown, slightly oily toothy corojo wrapper – rolled in Miami.
Spice, pepper, wood, dark chocolate sweetness, earthy Buttery cereal (oatmeal?) notes and mixed nuts join during the first third. There are faint fruit notes and hints of cream and coffee by the second third. The balance and complexity are excellent. The retrohale features wood, nuts and pepper.
Good open draw, tight holding firm white ash, a near flawless burn line, and solid smoke production. The cigar required only one touchup after I left it on the port for a while.
Most of the flavors are subtle, except for the earth and spice/pepper but they balance very well. The transitions are also subtle as more chocolate, coffee, fruit and mixed nuts emerge through the final third. It’s medium-full bodied. My only minor issue is the strength which is considerable by the final third. I’m buzzin’ by the finish.
Aganorsa Leaf Anniversario Corojo Gran Robusto is a very good cigar. If you enjoy corojo wrappers, you have to give this stick a try.
