The Macanudo Emissary Robusto distinguishes itself with a unique blend, featuring tobacco from the unexpected terroirs of Spain. I got this baby from the Testing Lab. This is the first cigar they have sent since joining back in September. It was well worth the wait!

Wrapper: Encased in a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, this cigar boasts a rich, dark hue and a robust flavor profile. The leaf’s thickness and oiliness contribute to a slow, even burn.

Binder: Originating from Nicaragua’s fertile Condega valleys, the binder infuses complexity and a subtle spiciness into the cigar’s profile.

Filler: The Emissary Robusto’s heart contains a diverse filler blend. Nicaraguan tobacco provides a peppery foundation; Colombian leaves add sweetness; Dominican Piloto Cubano contributes a full-bodied richness; and notably, Spanish tobacco imparts a rare, distinctive flavor shaped by Spain’s terroir—grown near olive trees and pepper fields, it captures the essence of the Mediterranean.

Appearance & Construction: At 5 inches by 52 ring gauge, the Robusto features a dark cocoa-colored, oily wrapper, tightly packed. It’s crowned with a meticulously applied triple cap, enhancing both its visual appeal and smoking consistency.

Aroma: Before lighting, the cigar exudes a potent, earthy scent with notes of damp hay and leather, foreshadowing the rich complexity of the smoke to come.

First Light: The initial draw is smooth, unveiling a medium-full body. Dominant flavors of chocolate ganache and cinnamon are wrapped in a velvety smoke, signaling a luxurious experience ahead.
